PTJ COMICS is the largest webtoon production company in Korea.
With the opening of a gallery in Garosu-gil, Sinsa-dong, Seoul,
PTJ Comics recruited several artists to hold a collaborative exhibition.
The webtoon called 'Lookism' is the representative work of cartoonist Park Tae-joon.
And I drew an exhibition work in the form of reinterpreting the webtoon called 'Lookism'.
At the same time, the theme of recovery from daily life after COVID-19 had to be included in the work.
In my case, there are many people who cannot go to the gym due to COVID-19,
So I expressed how I plan and exercise hard to build muscles again after COVID-19.
Bodybuilding weight training, called 'HEALTH' in Korea, is not just about improving physical strength.
It is related to the title of the webtoon 'Appearanceism', and bodybuilding weight training is related to beauty purposes.
In addition, he chose the theme of 'HEALTH' because it is highly related in terms of "recovery of daily life" after COVID-19.

박태준만화회사 컬래버레이션 기획전시 '외모지상주의'

박태준만화회사는 한국에서 가장 큰 웹툰 제작사로
올해 초 서울 신사동 가로수길에 신사옥을 오픈하면서 지하1층에 카페와 연결된 갤러리를 오픈하게 되었습니다.
여기에 박태준만화회사에서 총 24인의 작가분들을 모집하여 자사의 웹툰 '외모지상주의'를 컨셉으로 기획전시를 열게 되었습니다.
'외모지상주의'는 만화가 박태준의 대표작으로 모집된 작가분들은 '외모지상주의'라는 웹툰을 각자 재해석하여 작품을 제작하였습니다.
작가분들은 작품에 코로나19 이후 '일상의 회복'이라는 주제를 작품에 담아내야 했는데
저는 코로나19로 인해 2년간 헬스장에 가지 못한 사람들이 거리두기 해제 후 각자 계획 아래 운동을 다시 시작하는 모습을 표현했습니다.
특히 한국에서 '헬스'라 부르는 보디빌딩식 웨이트 트레이닝은 단순히 체력 증진을 위해 하는 것이 아닌
미용목적이 주를 이루기 때문에 웹툰 '외모지상주의'라는 제목과 연관성이 높으며
아울러 코로나19 이후 '일상의 회복'이라는 주제와도 관련이 있어 이 주제를 표현하게 되었습니다.
